All members of the clan are born with unusual teeth that gradually develop into full-blown sharp biters near puberty, earning the clansmen the nickname: Sharklings.

Instinctual Creatures

Akuro are very finely attuned to instinct, so much so that they develop a natural talent for movement and skills associated with it. As a result they have more aptitude in the areas of Physical Speed, Reaction Time, and Peak Movement, earning them +1 Shunshin @ OOC Creation. In rural and especially non-civilized areas these people tend to thrive and feel at home, having beastlike instincts that allow them to easily survive in such conditions. Along with this, it is common for clan members to have innate talent as Sensors.

History:

The Akuro have always been a very brutal, bloodthirsty clan, infamous for its production of murderous psychopaths that long for nothing more than beastial possession over empathetic and unsuspecting humans. As such, they never cared much for maintaining a record of their background or any of that civilized stuff. Legend does have it that they are the descendants of the very first violent insurgents that dared to rise and wage war before even the First Age had come to be.

Over time the Akuro became somewhat known for being animalistic in nature, usually keeping to the outskirts of civilization and rarely seen in urban areas. Most notably, they wandered the wilderness of Mizu no Kuni, where they settled at some point in time during the Second Age. There, they would become shinobi for hire. Easily recognized by their beastlike maws and speedy grace. They were monsters who trained in the art of assassination, leaving behind their "mark" where their victims were found during a job - a canvass of blood.

When Kirigakure was founded they initially resisted the assimilation. They preferred the nature they occupied a thousand times more than any sort of civilization, but their brutality appealed to the Shodai. As a way to get the clan to join, this man installed the Blood Mist program as the village's academy graduation ceremony. The Akuro's ways would become Kirigakure's brutal culture that sought to annihilate all opposition, and the Seven Swordsmen's identifying trait would become an imitation of the clan's dentures.

They can't be said to have changed, for they retain their ways without showing any interest in more civilized tenets. Their clan complex also remains near the outskirts of the village, where they can still feel at home.
