Clan Surname:Ren
Origin:Ki no Kuni | Land of Trees
Location:Scattered
Special Abilities:§ MUTATION §History:
Our great ancestor, Shaman of the Land of Trees, was fairly powerful. She was able to banish some of the most sinister of spirits using her spiritual prowess, however one day, she was possessed by one of the evil spirits she fought against. In a last stitched attempt to prevent it from roaming free, she sealed the spirit within herself before losing all of her power. However, the spirit tainted her soul, making it so that we her children now possess eyes of greed and a mutation in our chakra networks that allows us to lock things away, sometimes forever.

*Eyes of Greed, all members of the Ren Clan have gem hued eyesShienna, our great ancestor, was a powerful Shaman that protected the Land of Trees. She provided safe haven for the souls of the weary in the time of great war and often performed exorcisms on troubled men. However more often than not, she combated the sinister ghouls that dared to claim the souls of the living for themselves. For a long time her battle with these ghouls was quite stagnant, however near the arrival of the Rikudou Sennin, she was at long last beginning to push the ghouls back into their hellish plane. Eventually, however, a powerful Ghoul managed to trick the powerful yet aging shaman by attacking her weak spot for children. In her attempt to help a lost child the Ghoul struck out at her and managed to possess her. Knowing full well if the Ghoul managed to over whelm her that it would destroy everything, Shienna sacrificed her spiritual powers in order to protect everyone. She became a martyr, sealing the Ghoul within herself at great sacrifice.
Our great ancestor had been pregnant at that same time, and after losing her powers, nearly lost her child. She fell incredible weak and before long, would go into labor from the shock. In childbirth, she would pass quickly from blood loss, nearly taking her child to the grave with her. Saika would be born on that day, weak and marked by the ghoul that had taken her mother. She would be the first of our people to possess the ruby eyes of greed, but not the last. Saika too would grow to become a powerful Shaman, however even more powerful than her own mother. However, due to the mutation that had befallen her because of the Ghoul's curse, she would soon fall to corruption and become that which is known as the Witch Doctor.
Saika soon became fascinated with the concept of death and undeath. She began to experiment and when the time came that she was married away, she would decide to kill her husband as soon as her use for him was expired, and did so immediately after their first, and only copulation. Our people believe that she even carried his skull around with her as a little trinket that she liked to play around and experiment with. However, this did not last long as near the end of the first age, she too, like her mother before her, would die during childbirth.
Her child, Kotome, grew up to be something else. When it came her time to marry, she married into a powerful clan of shinobi known as the Ren. In this clan she was married to the leader's son, whom would become a powerful ruler some day with his wife's aide and father four sons and daughters. However, each and every one of his sons and daughters too would be plagued by their mother's mutation. Each one would be born with eyes like neither of their parents, and odd things would tend to happen around them. Eventually this led to the downfall of the Ren clan through the attraction of Ghouls and other sinister creatures. By the time the clan seemingly vanished in 40 of the second age, only the children, now grown up, remained.
The children remained together through out the remainder of their lives. Each, in turn, got married and had several more kids that too seemed to bear their same mutation. Each time as well, ten years into the marriage, the spouses of the children would perish in some inconceivable way, and more times than not, at the hands of their spouse. This cycle would continue for about twenty years, ten years into the Third Age, before the children of Kotome would at long last all perish in a fire at the hands of their own children. These children then scattered following the fire, style bearing their plague of misfortune unto the world. Some have even had children of their own.
