PERSONALITY:

Kozo is a very stubborn teen. He does not like to reveal his weaknesses to anyone and will often disguise kind or good actions with an exaggerated agitation. Not that he has a lurking evil inside of him, he just finds that kind acts can be seen as a sign of weakness. Kozo takes life as a ninja very seriously and shows a great determination and ambition to be the best, especially with the weight of coming from the Uchiha clan - he was brought up with a certain expectation of himself for carrying the title.

He loves his clan. There is nothing more important in the world than family, something that Kozo would go to the ends of the earth to protect, despite being of such a young age. Due to his upbringing without a real mother or father, he can recognize why people would go to such extents to protect their family, as for most it is generally a normal part of life. The very idea of people insulting the Uchiha name makes his blood boil, to say the least.

That's not to say Kozo is by any means heartless for the way he carries himself. He mourned the death of his mother and father for some time and never really got over that loss. Despite being rather socially awkward due to his temperament, (often telling comrades "I'll kill you" or "I'll crush you" in order to convey his annoyances), Kozo holds his friends and team-mates close. The main reason being he actually struggles to make friends with such an aloof attitude, as he's never really been given a chance to show his more positive side.

Despite these traits, Kozo is not fully experienced in the world of being a ninja. The very idea of war, or fighting on any battlefield still brings a certain degree of fear into him. Kozo is very unsure of how he would act under such pressure and whether or not he could actually make the killing blow when faced with the opportunity. Such things life has yet to teach him, along with many others.

Though Kozo is extremely intelligent. The principles of being a ninja is something he naturally understands and can come to terms with. Through this he has carried his own principles - vanity is a sin and one should never underestimate their opponents, while always looking to improve ones own strengths. While he does not like to show his weakest points to anyone, Kozo fully recognizes them and knows that to progress - he must turn them into strengths.

HISTORY:

Uchiha Kozō did not have the easiest of upbringings. His mother died in childbirth, a petite woman whose body was unable to cope with the strenuous labor -  Kozō being the legacy after her death. Shortly after his father fell into a deep depression, his skills deteriorated as a result and he was presumed to have been killed in battle after comrades were unable to find his body after several days.

This left the young Kozō in the hands of the clan, his grandmother and grandfather specifically. Both of them raised the child in a loving environment and as far as Kozō knew, his mother and father died as heroes in a battle.

His grandfather was a former Jounin and was brought up in a very traditional sense. Kozō was raised strictly, under an intense regime of training and commitment to becoming a ninja. Normally this would have put most children off the idea but Kozō inspired to become like his parents, heroes of the village.

Soon after entering the Academy, his grandfather had taken him aside and explained the truth of his parents demise. His mother, dying to give birth to him and his fathers body missing on the battlefield. Kozō could not handle the stress of the truth. Such was his emotional pain of loss and being lied to for so long, he awakened his Sharingan.

Only then did they know he was destined to be something special.

Kozō relieved himself of care under his grandparents and returned to his family home. While he understood their reasoning for lying, he simply could not accept the conditions under which the lies were told. He felt a certain guilt for his mothers death and for all he knew, his father had betrayed the village. It wasn't acceptable and the young Uchiha wanted to bring a sense of honor back to the branch of his family.

The one thing he did learn however, was the dedication to training and hard work. Kozō spent every single day perfecting his techniques and practicing with more senior members of the clan, so much so that he was able to learn the Great Fireball Technique - earning his rite of passage as an Uchiha.

Shortly came the graduation from the academy and his 13th birthday along with it. Only now is he awaiting to be placed into a team - to truly start his journey as a ninja.
