The Red Fox clan of the Foxes of the Silent Shrine contract are the supreme leaders of the fox clans. They are known for their intelligence, wit, and sense of humor more so than their wisdom. They generally have rather quick tempers, but are well-liked and friendly.

Not only is the Red Fox clan one of the largest clans, they are also the most affable and eager to get along with their summoners. They act not only as partners, but as teachers, and at times even students. Despite their tempers, the red foxes are gentle with the humans that summon them.

They are ninjutsu masters first and foremost. Their ninjutsu are incredibly strong, and they prefer to manipulate their elements through techniques instead of wildly swinging about fire and whatnot.

Appearance:

Kishin is a twenty-five foot tall male red fox with a long body.. As his name would imply, his body is mostly red, though he has black grizzle around his snout and paws, with a cream colored underside. His fur is very long, dense, and fluffy, said to be the softest of any fox. He has eight tails, like many kitsune of myth, and one of his tails has been cut off, leaving him with little more than a stub, though it does not lessen his power and he wears the battle scar proudly.

Personality:

Like the majority of his species, Kishin is very adventurous and impulsive. He loves to explore new places and come up with strange ideas. He's also extremely flirtatious, even to foxes outside of his species and, on occasion, even humans both male and female, despite having a mate. As the leader of the foxes, he is extremely wise and intelligent, although it doesn't often show with him.

Abilities:

Taijutsu: Kitsune can use their tails to great effect in physical fights, to pick up and throw people or slam them into things.

Kitsune Shapeshifting: All kitsune have the ability to change their size, number of visible tails, and the color of their fur, to a limited extent. Only the most powerful kitsune can shift to any combination of those three that they want; younger and less powerful kitsune can use only the most basic changes, like lightening their fur a shade or two.

Foxfire/Katon Manipulation: All kitsune have the ability to manipulate foxfire, while manifests as either a ghostly purple fire or a translucent yellow light, expelled from either their mouths or their tails. This also leads to manipulation of the katon element and its techniques, though most kitsune prefer just shooting fire at things, as opposed to using techniques.

Raiton Manipulation: Raiton manipulation is unique to Kishin within the fox houses. He trained extensively in order to manipulate his foxfire into electricity. It can be channeled through his tails like regular foxfire and he does not need to use a technique to manipulate it.

Kitsune Seduction: A form of genjutsu unique to kitsune; using the swaying of their tails (as only kitsune with five or more tails can use this ability) they put the victim into a world created entirely in the kitsune's mind, usually full of blood, gore, and spirits. The best way to break out of the seduction is to have another person turn you away from the kitsune; as soon as your line of sight with the tails is broken, the seduction loses all effects.

Appearance:

Akasha is a fifteen foot tall red fox, fur colored the typical red with a white chest and black paws. Her fur is long and almost as soft as that of her mate Kishin. She has seven tails, like many kitsune of legend.

Personality:

Akasha is almost the exact opposite of Kishin: stern and with a hard exterior, less quick-tempered than most red foxes, and perhaps even wiser and more intelligent than the king of foxes himself. She is the record keeper for the Foxes of the Silent Shrine, an important duty. It is said that she knows everything about every fox from the clans back hundreds of years, and can perfectly recite their histories.

Appearance:

Isshi, though he stands twelve feet tall, looks like any other red fox: mostly red fur, with an off-white chest and black legs and paws. He has five tails, like many kitsune of myth.

Personality:

Isshi presents a stern outer front to disguise emotions he thinks are childish; he is more bloodthirsty than the other red foxes - and much more likely to act on his rage and bloodlust. Nor does he boast an impressive jutsu repertoire. He acts more like an arctic fox than a red fox, but he is not shunned for it.

Tenbatsu, though she stands thirteen feet tall, looks like any other red fox: mostly red fur, with an off-white chest and black legs and paws. She has five tails, like many kitsune of myth.[

Personality:

Tenbatsu is more like what you would expect of red fox: energetic and happy and full of life and love. She's everyone's best friend, and is apprenticed to Akasha to one day take over the older fox's record keeping duties. The two are like sisters despite the age and power difference. Tenbatsu's temper is legendary - it earned her her name, which means 'wrath of god.' It is a sight you do not wish to witness.

Appearance:

Keihaku is a five foot tall red fox, the daughter of Kishin and Akasha. She manifests a fur pattern called cross; it gives her a generally dark brown and gray coat with bright silver guard hairs. The cross on her shoulders is a very distinct shade of brown with pale silver tips. She has manifested two tails.

Personality:

Keihaku is basically a miniature version of her father. She loves adventure and thrills, and can never get enough of travel. She talks constantly about every subject under the sun, and if possible, is even more of a flirt than Kishin. As the sole heir of the red fox house leader, she has quite the ego, and isn't afraid to flaunt it.
