Erai Umigame - Great Seaturtle

Appearance:

Erai Umigame is the largest turtle one could possibly imagine, towering over forests and buildings, even coming up to chest-height of some of the largest Bijuu. However, it is much longer than it is tall, and its massive green-blue shell seems like a continent of its own. Some small, semi-aquatic plants, such as lily-pads, have even called it home. Its head is flat at the top, but it fans out into large protrusions over the sides of its head. It wields a gigantic maw, although it has no teeth, and sea-foam colored eyes. Its skin is a pale grey under its shell, and it is littered with wrinkles, but it may still be relatively young.

Personality:

Umigame is very wise and elderly, and it shows very apparently (and somewhat comically). It talks very slowly, but its voice has a lightness to it that makes it sound as if it is in a constant state of bliss. It is very curious, yet it has a vast wealth of knowledge unrivaled by any other creature, and is filled with stories of older, forgotten times. But it likes to hear new stories, and nothing interests it more than watching history unfold before its very eyes, which it most likely has done before. Some say that it was befriended by the Rikudo Sennin in its somewhat early years, and it probably was. Any thought about the man is lost to the turtle, though.

When it comes to Yoshiku, the Umigame adores him. He enjoys the Shinobi's stories and experiences, and always seems to be happiest when talking to him. The two have an obvious bond that could only be broken by the foulest of evil, which neither of them would let grow to such power, anyway. It, much like Yoshiku, which may have rubbed off on him (or vice-versa), has a very heroic and noble nature. It feels that the world is constantly turning and that the next generation is the answer to the previous generation's problems, and is fascinated by young folk. It has no problems with contracting with other people, aside from Yoshiku himself, as long as Yoshiku approves of the contract as well.

Erai Umigame's shell is the hardest of all turtles in the world, and is the basis for Yoshiku's Ultimate Shell technique. It is already thick enough to disregard most attacks, but what makes it truly special is the thin yet sturdy layer of chakra coating it, which causes most other chakra to roll right off of it, much like a raincoat. In effect, this renders most Ninjutsu ineffective against it. It is especially effective against Katon, Suiton, and Fuuton techniques, which have the least effect on it.

With massive size comes a massive body, and few can match this turtle in that respect. It may not be very fast, but the massive shell on top of the already-gigantic turtle makes it a very, very, VERY heavy creature. Case in point, don't get stepped on.

Erai Umigame has no problem with staying submerged for long periods of time, and is completely water-proof, rendering low-level Suiton techniques nearly ineffective.

Chougame - Elder Turtle

Appearance:

Chougame is quite a bit different from Umigame. He is noticeably smaller, much smaller to be precise, perhaps up to a man's knees, at most. His shell is similarly colored, green and blue, and with grey, wrinkled skin, he appears to be closely related to the Umigame in some way. But he is capable of walking on his hind legs, appearing very human, and wearing a small pair of spectacles on his beak. He tends to use a walking cane when in a casual setting, but loses it during a combat situation.

Personality:

Chougame is quite a bit more human than Umigame. He talks without slurred speech and is very calculating - but this makes him very judging, and it took Yoshiku a long time to achieve his respect because of it. Instead of being fascinated with younger people, Chougame detests them. He believes them to be very stubborn and ignorant, regardless of how they actually act, yet he knows that even they can become truly great. He sticks to old customs and believes in the power of hard work, knowing that one can only truly change something by putting the effort into doing it.

It is obvious that Chougame was trained for combat, as he is the most outspokenly powerful of the turtles - but he is incredibly wise, and rarely chooses to fight. That being said, he is often Yoshiku's main fighting companion, and sticks by his side whenever called. He is an excellent strategist, and is very observant. He will not contract himself with anyone except for Yoshiku, believing that one should only have one contractor to bond with.

It isn't as large as Erai Umigame's, but it is just the same in terms of defense. It is incredibly hard, capable of withstanding most attacks. However, it is not quite as strong as Erai Umigames, due to the size difference. But it is much better when defending against pin-point attacks.

There is a lot of fight left in this old geezer, and he certainly shows it. He has a Taijutsu level of a normal Chunin, but is noticeably fast for a turtle, and often zips around the battlefield like it's nobodies business.

You think he's fast on land? Wait until he hits water. He can sustain himself underwater for long periods of time, but moves like a torpedo when submerged, allowing him to outrank most combatants in underwater combat.

He CANNOT access Sage Mode, but he can gather Sage chakra. Not to the extent of a human, though, but it does come easier to Chougame.

Ishikame - Stone Turtle

Appearance:

Ishikame appears very jaggedly. He is about eight feet tall, and can stand on his hind legs. He is very heavy, and his shell is laden with many spiked protrusions, as is his head. Even so, he doesn't appear very mean and often smiles. He is tinted a light brownish color, and seems to be a little shell-heavy.

Personality:

Ishikame is a very free spirit. It isn't known how old he is, but he acts very young, often laughing and having a good time. If anyone can see the brighter side of things, its Ishikame. He is one of the more trigger-happy turtles, and likes to show his stuff on the battlefield - as such, he is often lectured by the other, older turtles. Yoshiku respects him, as well as his love of combat, even if he doesn't approve of it.

Ishikame isn't exactly the brightest, though. He often needs to be told things, and is very bad with directions and instructions. Ironically, he is also a poor swimmer, most likely due to his weight, which is considerable for his size.

Ishikame's shell is naturally incredibly hard, capable of withstanding most attacks, especially blunt and physical attacks. However, it is also spiked, allowing for interesting offensive movements.

Ishikame weighs a lot. Like, a lot. A lot more than you would expect, even if it isn't at the same level as Erai Umigame's, it is not something you want sitting on top of you, if you value your skeleton.

Ishikame is very skilled in Taijutsu, making up for his speed with very hard, crushing blows, utilizing his very heavy body to its fullest. His taijutsu level is equivalent to that of a Jounin.

Bekkou - Tortoise Shell

Appearance:

One wouldn't be able to tell that Bekkou is female just by looking at her, but she is roughly the same height as Chougame. Her shell is a redish blue, and completely smooth - and her skin is a lighter grey color. She, too, stands on her hind legs. Her eyes are a deep blue.

Personality:

Bekkou seems to be a little younger than Chougame, however she acts much younger than that. She enjoys challenges and Yoshiku interests her, to the point where she'll engage in any fight she's summoned into, regardless of the foe. And she does love to fight, to show her stuff, and especially to win. She's a big fan of exotic foods, and has a personal goal to eat all of the fish in the ocean.

Her rather silly, nonchalant attitude sets her apart from the other turtles, who otherwise bore her. She would much rather go on adventures with Yoshiku than stay in the basin, with the 'wrinklers', as she calls them.

Urusaikame - Noisy Turtle

Appearance:

Urusaikame is very, very different than the other turtles. He is about the same size as Chougame and Bekkou, however his skin is light-orange and his shell is a bumpy red with yellow streaks. He has dark black circles around his eyes, which are yellow, and is always wearing a read scarf.

Personality:

He's called noisy for a reason - Urusaikame is incredibly boisterous, and wants the world to know it. He is incredibly young, especially when compared to the other turtles, and is always upbeat and energetic. No one can tire him out, and nothing stops him or changes his mind. He wants to be the strongest turtle, and some day, he wishes to become as powerful as Erai Umigame. But it's only a dream.

He is incredibly bold, heroic, and eccentric compared to the other turtles. He has a collection of knick-nacks that he's gathered, and he treasures all of them. He is also prone to crying, although he acts like he isn't, and is a very sore loser. Urusaikame is known to yell a lot, which is the true reason for his name.

It is unknown as to what species he is, but he is the only one of his kind in the basin.
